Zach Johnson rolled to the win with a final-round 64 in last year's Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, and he's at 22/1 on the golf betting odds to repeat as the champion at the tournament this week.
Johnson also performed well in the final round of THE PLAYERS Championship last week, shooting a 66. However, that wasn't enough to make up for his middling effort over the first three days, and he ended up tied for 12th and five strokes back of eventual winner K.J. Choi.
Johnson won last year's Crowne Plaza Invitational by three strokes over Brian Davis, and by four strokes over both Jeff Overton and Ben Crane.
Hunter Mahan missed the cut in the tournament last season, but he's still on top of the golf betting odds at Bodog this week at 18/1 to get it together and take the trophy on Sunday. Jason Day, who was tied for 50th last year, is also set at 18/1 odds. Day and Mahan tied for sixth place at THE PLAYERS Championship last week.
Crane, Jim Furyk, and Matt Kuchar join Johnson at 22/1 odds to win at Colonial, with Adam Scott at 25/1 odds.
David Toms is next at 33/1 odds on the Crowne Plaza Invitational board, and he'll be looking to shake off the loss to Choi in a playoff at THE PLAYERS last week. Toms ended up in 13th place at Colonial last year.
Looking ahead on the Bodog golf futures, Johnson is at 100/1 odds to win the U.S. Open at Congressional next month. Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods lead that list at 10/1 odds, with Lee Westwood trailing those two at 14/1 odds.
