X Factor Season 2 Vegas Odds: Demi Lovato and Chaka Khan As Judge

For Simon Cowell, the race to fill the two judging spots, as well as the role of host, on the second season of The X Factor may have more suspense than the actual show, which begins to air in September. The variety of names that we’ve heard in regards to this role have been all over the place but he may have found who he wants to sit beside himself and L.A. Reid.

Britney Spears is the only person to have locked down a spot and even that hasn’t been confirmed by either side, although a $15 million price tag for one year has surely secured Spears. The rumors for the other spot have been flying with names like the late Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Nicki Minaj, Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas and Katy Perry as just a few of the names that Cowell has allegedly pursued, along with LeAnn Rimes and Avril Lavigne. Cowell is reportedly also trying to land Adele, who dominated the Grammys and is the “It Girl” right now in pop music.

However, two more names are in the ring as teen star Demi Lovato and soul icon Chaka Khan are reportedly in the mix, and Lovato is all but a done deal, depending on who you believe. This certainly brings in the younger demographic for Cowell, but don’t count out Khan, who has over 40 years of experience in the show-business industry and could teach new performers coming in a thing or two. Khan really wants the role of judge on The X Factor and has reached out to Cowell, but there is no word yet on what the Englishman’s response would be, so stay tuned to the ever-changing list of names that will pop up to judge The X Factor this season.
