Just like everyone else, I was amped to get my first look at the top two draft choices during Week 1 of Preseason Football betting. Week 2 NFL Preseason Predictions & Las Vegas Odds should be that much better with Starters getting extended playing time. More importantly, I like to throw some spare change at the games on the board just to keep me glued. Here are three that should tempt your fancies this coming weekend.
There’s a team in New York that tries to guarantee Super Bowls, and another team that just goes out and wins them. Can you guess which one is which? The two New York teams will meet in a preseason game that will matter to nobody except Rex Ryan. This could be the very game that Ryan breaks out his supposed Wildcat formation.
Or it might not be. Who knows? That’s why it’s difficult to make Pro Football Free Picks on these games. Ryan has been teasing the use of the one-and-only Tim Tebow in the Wildcat formation for some time, and really it shouldn’t come as a huge shocker. Not only is the Wildcat what Tebow is probably best at, the Jets also ran the same damn formation with Brad Smith not too long ago.
The New York Giants probably won’t be too concerned with letting Tebow and the New York Jets take this game down because they’re the defending world champions and have better things to worry about. The Giants don’t have an explosive first team offense and are still searching for an heir apparent to Mario Manningham, who left for the Niners, joining Brandon Jacobs who is a whole lot of man to replace as well.
The Jets will be missing some punch with Santonio Holmes taking this week off, but you can never underestimate the power of a guy like Tebow trying to win over the crowd. Well actually, you can because the Jets looked horrific in their preseason opener losing to Cincinnati 6-17.
The Giants aren’t going to blow the doors of this game, but they have a system backup in David Carr who knows what Coughlin and the coaches want to see. He can be smooth and fluid enough to keep the game rolling in the Giants’ favor as the Jets try to court the audience with more gimmicks and circus antics. Take the Giants as dogs. Tebow is having trouble winning preseason games. I mean, let’s get serious here.
