Sunday Night Football Vegas Odds & Aengus Moorehead NFL Picks: New England Patriots vs Denver Broncos

New England Patriots vs. Denver Broncos

Patriots: 6-2-0 (4-4-0 ATS)
Broncos: 3-5-0 (2-5-1 ATS)
When: 8:30 PM ET, Sunday, November 12, 2017
Where: Sports Authority Field, Denver, Colorado

The surging New England Patriots will attempt to maintain their winning form and notch their fifth consecutive win as they get ready to meet the reeling Denver Broncos in an AFC Conference showdown with the clash set to be broadcasted Sunday night on NBC at 8:30 p.m. ET and live from Authority Field at Mile High in Denver. Both teams are going in opposite directions with the Patriots having won their last four games while the Broncos losing the same amount.

While the Patriots have had trouble winning in the postseason against the Broncos losing four of their last five games, they have dominated Denver in the regular season winning five of their last six contests against the Broncos. The Patriots have also won two of their last three tilts in Denver including a 16-3 win last year in December. The Patriots enter this affair as an 8-point favorite, according to Bovada Sportsbook, with the total sitting at 44½ points.

The Patriots haven’t lost a road game since the start of last season which amounts to eleven straight wins. They have covered the numbers in nine of those contests. After starting the season 2-2 while allowing 32 points per game, the Patriots have played much better defensively during their latest 4-game win streak as they have yielded just 12.7 points during that stretch. Ageless quarterback Tom Brady is second in the league with 2,541 yards with 16 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions.

Brady will be facing a Broncos’ side that has struggled defensively of late as it has allowed 31 points on average in its last four games. They were manhandled 51-23 last week in Philadelphia and if the defense was awful in that game, the Broncos’ attack was also atrocious with just 243 total yards. Quarterback Brock Osweiler, who replaced starter Trevor Siemian in that game, was his old self again which is mediocre as he threw for just 208 yards with a garbage touchdown and two interceptions.

Bovada has the Patriots listed as 8-point favorites and the game's total is sitting at 44½ according to MyBookie.

On the NFL Football Moneyline Odds at BetOnline Patriots are the Favorite at -290.

Denver was a 51-23 loser in its last match on the road against the Eagles. They failed to cover the +7-point spread as underdogs, while the total score of 74 sent OVER bettors to the payout window.

In their last action, New England was a 21-13 winner at home against the Chargers. They covered the -6.5-point spread as favorites, while the combined score (34) was profitable news for UNDER bettors.

The Bottom Line:
While I expect Denver’s defense to come to life in this game, it is its offense that is causes for concern. If Osweiler doesn’t inject the spark the Broncos need to stay close with the Patriots, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Siemian back in the fold. The defense will keep the Broncos in the game with the Patriots winning by a field goal. Take Points and Broncos +8 and the Under 44½.
