Washington is 3-2 after a tighter than expected 26-24 win over the 49ers last week coming out of their bye. They’ll travel to first place Philadelphia in an important NFC East match up.

Washington has won three of their past four games, with the sole loss a 29-20 loss on the road to Kansas City that was decided in the final minute of play.

They looked excellent beating the Rams and Raiders and managed to put up 419 yards of offense against San Francisco.

Washington got off to a 17-0 lead before the 49ers made a game of it. They scored the next 17 points to tie it up before the third quarter was done.

QB Kirk Cousins was up to the task as he led his team on a 72-yard drive that ended on the 49ers three-yard line before having to settle for a field goal. Then on Washington’s next possession he took them 84 yards into the end zone for the insurance touchdown.

After San Fran made it 26-24 they got the ball back with 52 second left and rookie QB C.J. Beathard took them to the Washington 40, but a penalty made it second and 20 and that’s as close as they could get with Kendall Fuller intercepting him with nine seconds left to end the game.

The Eagles are looking to run away with the division and they’ll open up a 2.5 game lead if they can win on Monday. QB Carson Wentz is in the running for most improved player in his second year at the helm of this team.

He’s fifth in the league with 1584 yards passing and he’s thrown 13 TDs with just 3 INTs.

Philadelphia has won four in a row after their 28-23 win over Carolina on Thursday Night Football. That was a battle for the best record in the NFC and it delivered.

Carolina took an early 10-3 lead after QB Cam Newton ran one in early in the second quarter. The Eagles tied it before the half was done and went ahead for good on their first possession of the third quarter.

Newton was intercepted by Patrick Robinson and Wentz threw his second touchdown of the night to TE Zack Ertz.

Ertz leads the team with 34-405-4. Wide receiver was such a liability last year, but Alshon Jeffrey has been a great addition with 24-317-2 and that’s allowed Nelson Agholor to settle into his more natural role and he has 20-321-4.

Washington is 14th averaging 23.4 PPG and 18th allowing 22.6 PPG.

Philadelphia is 6th scoring 27.5 PPG and 9th allowing 20.3 PPG.

Bovada has the Eagles listed as 4½-point favorites and the game's total is sitting at 49 according to MyBookie.
