There is plenty of intrigue on Monday night as the Vikings take on the Bears. On the Minnesota side of the ball QB Sam Bradford looked positively electric in his one start this season back in week one. The Vikings beat the Saints that day 29-19 on Monday Night Football and the offense dialed up 470 yards of total offense, including 341 through the air.

But he hasn’t played a snap since as a knee injury has kept him out of the lineup. And considering how much of his career has already been lost to knee injuries it only makes sense for Minnesota to ere on the side of caution. He is listed as questionable this week, but has taken first team reps with the offense all week.

One person we know who won’t be in the lineup for the Vikings is their dynamic rookie RB Dalvin Cook who tore his ACL last week and is now lost for the season. Minnesota doesn’t have anyone who can run like he does. Latavius Murray who was signed as a free agent from Oakland is more of a power back and he’s averaging just 2.7 YPG in limited use so far, but someone will have to step up.

QB Case Keenum has had one big game replacing Bradford at QB and two mediocre ones. That includes last week’s 14-7 loss to the Lions where he threw for 219 yards.

Chicago in the meanwhile is turning the ball over to their #2 overall pick and QB of the future Mitch Trubisky in somewhat of a gutsy move. I say that only because of the timing of throwing him in against an excellent Vikings defense and then the next two games are against the equally tough Ravens and Panthers defenses.

But QB Mike Glennon has not done much with his opportunity after warming the bench in Tampa Bay the past three seasons. The Bears are averaging just 15.3 PPG and so the team is looking for a spark.

Of course one of the main issues this team has is they no one reliable to throw the ball to. Their number one receiver has been their running back Tarik Cohen with 24-150-1. No one else on the team has more than 14 catches through four games and the receiving corps is a hodge podge of veterans who have never produced up to this point in their careers.

Last week the Bears dropped a 35-14 decision to the Packers and are spoiling a good defense who have allowed 311 yards or less each of the last three weeks.

Bovada has the Vikings listed as 3½-point favorites and the game's total is sitting at 40½ according to MyBookie.

On the NFL Football Moneyline Odds at BetOnline Vikings are the Favorite at -180.

Last time out for Chicago, they were a 35-14 loser as they battled the Packers on the road. The Bears failed to cover in the match as a +7-point underdog, while 49 combined points moved the game OVER for totals bettors.

Minnesota lost its last outing, a 14-7 result against the Lions on October 01. The Vikings failed to cover in that game as a -2.5-point favorite, while the 21 combined points took the game UNDER the total.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Chicago Bears Monday Night Football Betting Odds & Trends

Minnesota:
Minnesota is 5-10 SU in its last 15 games
The total has gone OVER in 4 of Minnesota's last 6 games
Minnesota is 1-6 ATS in its last 7 games on the road

Chicago:
Chicago is 2-4 ATS in its last 6 games
Chicago is 1-7 SU in its last 8 games
Chicago is 6-1 ATS in its last 7 games at home

Next up:
Minnesota home to Green Bay Sunday, October 15
Chicago at Baltimore Sunday, October 15

The result:
Minnesota are -3.5 point road favorites and that line must assume that Keenum is the starter. Given their superiority on both sides of the ball while facing a rookie QB I think they’ll have no issues covering no matter who starts. The Pick: Vikings 24-10.
