Two slumping football teams will try to get their season back on track on Monday Night Football. In the case of the Denver Broncos, it’s a matter of the disappearing offense. The shocking thing about what’s happened to them is that in week two they looked positively dominant in taking down the Cowboys 42-17.

QB Trevor Siemian looked phenomenal for the second straight week, throwing four touchdowns and posting a 116.0 passer rating.

Next on the docket were the Buffalo Bills, a game most felt the Broncos would dominate. But Sean McDermott and company came up with a perfect game plan and Von Miller took a costly unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the fourth quarter that extended a Bills drive and Denver lost 26-16. Siemian looked pedestrian with no touchdowns and two interceptions. And in this copycat league, the other teams on the schedule caught on to the point that since the Cowboys game Siemian has thrown two touchdowns total to go along with five interceptions.

Denver has scored 42 points total in their last four games including getting shutout last week at the Chargers, 21-0.

The Chargers sacked Siemian five times, held him to 207 yards passing and the running game to 69 yards on 19 attempts. They also managed to get two touchdowns on the board with 7:07 to go in the second quarter and Denver simply had no answer.

Kansas City shot out to a 5-0 start to begin their season and that includes wins over some of the best teams in the league in New England and Philadelphia as well as the new look Houston Texans. But lost amidst that hot start was that their best player and emotional leader on defense S Eric Berry was lost for the season in that season opening win over the Patriots.

The team has been able to mask that with MVP-level play from QB Alex Smith (72.4 comp. %, 15TDs- 0 INTs) and the emergence of rookie RB Kareen Hunt (717 yards rushing, 285 yards receiving, 6 TDs) to complement the electric WR Tyreek Hill (36-515-3).

As such even with the defense giving up large chunks of yards and points, the offense has been a step ahead.
But the last two weeks against the Steelers and Raiders the tables have turned. Pittsburgh’s defense is one of the best in the league and they held the Chiefs to 13 points. WR Antonio Brown caught a ball that bounced off two defenders in full stride to run in the winning touchdown.

Then on Thursday night, they led most of the way against Oakland, but the Raiders hung around and finally pulled ahead on one of the more memorable end of game sequences in regular season memory. A combination of penalties and replay review meant the Raiders got the ball in the end zone three times in the final few seconds, before the last one finally counted on the way to a 31-30 win.

Now the Chiefs are suddenly losers of two straight and the 396.3 YPG they’ve allowed is 29th in the league. That could be a challenge against a Broncos team that is first allowing 258.5 YPG.

The Broncos are 24th scoring 18 PPG and 9th allowing 19.7 PPG.

The Chiefs are second scoring 29.6 PPG and 19th allowing 23.0 PPG.

Bovada has the Chiefs listed as 7½-point favorites and the game's total is sitting at 42½ according to MyBookie.

On the NFL Football Moneyline Odds at BetOnline Chiefs are the Favorite at -310.
