It took three games, but the Texans finally mounted a credible offense with their rookie sensation QB Deshaun Watson out of the lineup. Last week they beat Arizona 31-21 and put up 357 total yards. They scored a total of 21 points in their two previous weeks with 288 and 283 yards respectively.

Tom Savage has reassumed the starter’s status after he was benched after less than a game back in week one.

The Cardinals actually led this one 14-7 with less than two minutes to go in the second quarter before the Texans started clicking. Houston marched 59 yards and put up a 34-yard field goal to cut the lead to four. They then got the ball back to start the third and it took just under four minutes for them to go 74 yards for the go-ahead touchdown. DeAndre Hopkins accounted for 62 of the yards on the final two plays of the drive.

The Texans defense also stood up in the second half, allowing just the one touchdown. With JJ Watt and Whitney Mercilus out for the year ever since week a 42-34 loss to the Chiefs, this team has been giving up points in bunches. The only team they’ve held under 20 points was the hapless Browns on the way to allowing 29PPG in those six games.

Baltimore raised their record back to .500 with a 23-0 win in Green Bay last week. It was their third shutout of the season and second in the last three weeks. At the same time, some of their opponents have been able to score with surprising ease as they’ve allowed 44 to the Jaguars, 26 to Pittsburgh, 27 to the Bears, 24 to the Vikings and 23 to the Titans.

It remains to be seen what a Savage led team can do against a talented defense. Whatever Baltimore is, they are much better on D than Arizona is this year.

The offense led by QB Joe Flacco looks very weak as the team has put up less than 300 yards in seven of ten games this year. They were helped last week by a defense that produced five turnovers and they have a total of 23 on the season, tied for best in the league.

Houston is 6th scoring 26.7 PPG and 31st allowing 26.2 PPG.

Baltimore is 17th scoring 21.3 PPG and 3rd allowing 17.1 PPG.

The Bottom Line:
The Baltimore is -7½ favorites and their defense is by far the biggest mismatch in this game. The Cardinals D had been poor all season. Even if the Ravens don’t score much, they should be able to cover this one. The Pick: 21-7.
