Las Vegas Odds & Liev Jackson Free NFL Predictions: Seattle Seahawks vs Tennessee Titans

Seattle Seahawks vs. Tennessee Titans

Seahawks: 1-1-0 (0-1-0 V)
Titans: 1-1-0 (0-1-0 H)
When: 4:05 PM ET, Sunday, September 24, 2017
Where: Nissan Stadium, Nashville, Tennessee
TV: FOX

Heading into the season, Seattle was thought of as one of the top teams in the NFC. They are now 1-1 after a convincing loss to Green Bay in the opener and a narrow home win over a 49ers team expected to be a cellar dweller.

Their opening helps to beg the question of what September football is all about. With teams practicing in full pads less and less through the offseason, it’s almost as if the opening month is used to get into peak performance and the Seahawks might be exhibit A.

On the other hand, their offensive line might really be so bad that it ends up crippling this team.

Their week three match up against another team in Tennessee that also appears to be ascending to the upper echelon might reveal which way the wind is blowing for Seattle.

San Francisco managed to keep Seattle off the scoreboard for the entire second and third quarters and took a slim 9-7 lead into the fourth. QB Russell Wilson connected with Paul Richardson with 7:06 to go. The Seahawks D then forced a three and out and new RB Chris Carson ran the ball five straight times to help bleed out the clock.

Carson was drafted in the seventh round out of Oklahoma State, but he’s averaging 5.1 YPC and may have already leap frogged the veterans -Thomas Rawls and Eddie Lacy- for playing time.

Tennessee lost a tough battle with one of the AFC favorites from Oakland in week one. They trailed just 16-13 heading into the fourth quarter, but the Raiders took over from there, pulling away for the 26-16 win.

Last week they rebounded with a 37-16 win over the Jaguars. They built their lead up to 30-3 early in the fourth quarter before allowing a couple of late touchdowns. Jacksonville came into this game on a high after beating up on Houston on the road in week one.

The Titans used the same model they started with last year, using a powerful running game to control the contest. They rushed for 179 yards and three touchdowns and QB Marcus Mariotta threw for 215 yards a TD and an INT.
The Titans will be missing their number one draft pick, WR Corey Davis who was expected to help elevate a middling passing game and they’ll also be without WR Taywan Taylor. RB DeMarco Murray is also listed as questionable.

Both these teams feature excellent defenses and flawed offenses and it’s the one that is able to overcome that deficiency that is likely to pull out the win.

Bovada has the Titans listed as 3-point favorites and the game's total is sitting at 41 according to MyBookie.

On the NFL Football Moneyline Odds at BetOnline Titans are the Favorite at -145.

In their last action, Tennessee was a 37-16 winner on the road against the Jaguars. They covered the -1.5-point spread as favorites, while the combined score (53) was profitable news for OVER bettors.

Seattle won its last outing, a 12-9 result against the 49ers on September 17. The Seahawks failed to cover in that game as a -13.5-point favorite, while the 21 combined points took the game UNDER the total.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Tennessee Titans Las Vegas Odds & Trends

Seattle:
Seattle is 1-5 ATS in its last 6 games
Seattle is 0-5 ATS in its last 5 games on the road
Seattle is 1-4 SU in its last 5 games on the road

Tennessee:
Tennessee is 4-2 ATS in its last 6 games
Tennessee is 8-16-1 ATS in its last 25 games
Tennessee is 5-2 SU in its last 7 games

Next up:
Seattle home to Indianapolis Sunday, October 1
Tennessee at Houston Sunday, October 1

The result:
The Titans are -3 favorites, but I like Seattle’s chances against a banged up Titans team. Seattle has been starting slow the past couple of years, but Carson offers hope to the ground game and that should help provide some opportunities for Wilson and the passing game. The Pick: Seahawks 24-14.
