The No. 1 team in the world put together yet another dominant performance in the quarterfinals against France. Spain thoroughly dominated the game from start to finish, going ahead early in the 19th minute on a perfectly placed header by Xabi Alonso and then smothering the French with their impeccable possession game before Alonso added a second goal in extra time.
