The top-seeded Kansas Jayhawks will look to steamroll their way into the Final Four for the first time since 2012 as they get set to meet the third-seeded Oregon Ducks in a Midwest Region Elite Eight showdown set to be staged on Saturday night at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

I stand corrected, the Jayhawks are a force to be reckon with as they have pulverized the competition in their first three rounds by an average of 30 points while scoring 90 points or more on all three occasions. This is barely the same Kansas squad that limped into the NCCA Tournament by barely edging their opponents. It doesn’t bode well for the Ducks who will have to contend with a pro-Jayhawks crowd to boot.

The Jayhawks have found their shooting rhythm connecting for more than 50 percent in each of their three encounters and have shot more than 40 percent from beyond the arc. At least four Jayhawks have scored in double-digits in all three games with Frank Mason III and Devonte Graham leading the way with 21.3 combined average points so far in the Tourney. Add in Josh Jackson who combined for 55 points to the mix and the rest of the posse which has suddenly woken up and the Jayhawks are by far the team to beat in this Tournament.

Kansas are definitely peaking at the right time and its defense which has suddenly excelled has allowed the offense a little more liberty for it to take more chances and it has converted in grand fashion. The Ducks are a well-balanced group but haven’t overwhelmed anyone coming into this Elite Eight. Chris Boucher’s absence has really taken its toll as they have to play small and with the Jayhawks’ ability to control the boards and the way they are shooting is a lethal combination no one wants to face right now.

The Jayhawks are shedding that stigma that all they do is winning close games which was a reality coming into this Tournament. With three games in the books and the dismantling of the opposition so far in this Tourney, they have shown so far and the new veracity suggest that they will prove the sceptics wrong by steamrolling their way to the Final Four with yet another resounding victory over the Ducks on Saturday.

BetOnline has the Kansas listed as 6½-point favorites and the game's total is sitting at 156.
