EPGA Tour Odds to Win The 2012 Scottish Open: Luke Donald on Top
Tuesday, July 10, 2012
Luke Donald is the defending champion at the Scottish Open, and he's also listed as the favorite on the golf odds at Bovada Sportsbook for this week to claim the tournament once again as the European Tour tunes up for next week's British Open.
Donald beat Fredrik Andersson Hed by four strokes at last year's Scottish Open at the Castle Stuart Golf Links in Inverness, in an event that lasted just 54 holes due to inclement weather. The tournament returns to Castle Stuart this week, and the golf lines at Bovada have Donald pegged as the 8/1 favorite to grab the victory.
Padraig Harrington is next on that list at 14/1 odds, and he finished tied for 14th at the event last year – seven strokes back of Donald. Ross Fisher and Francesco Molinari are then both at 20/1 odds, with Fisher finishing 42nd last year and Molinari not in the field.
You can then find Ernie Els at 22/1 on the odds to win the Scottish Open this week, and he's won this tournament twice – at Loch Lomond in both 2000 and 2003. Martin Kaymer was the 2008 champion at the Scottish Open at Loch Lomond, and he sits with Nicolas Colsaerts and Phil Mickleson at 25/1 on the odds list. Els was 25th at the tournament last year, Mickelson was 58th, Colsaerts tied for third, and Kaymer skipped the event.
Louis Oosthuizen and Paul Lawrie then round out the top tier of contenders to win the Scottish Open at Bovada at 28/1 odds, followed by each of Fredrik Jacobson, Henrik Stenson, Martin Laird and Thomas Bjorn at 33/1 odds.
