Orioles: 34-34 (23-11 H)

The red-hot Cleveland Indians will attempt to maintain their winning ways as they travel to the East Coast for a four-game series against the Baltimore Orioles. This will be the first meeting between the two AL Rivals this season with the opener set to take place Monday night at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore. The Indians have had their fair share of hardships against Baltimore but they bring momentum to the table and an impressive road record to boot.

The Indians are one of only five teams in the league with at least 20 road victories on the season and are coming off of a pivotal four-game sweep of the Minnesota Twins in the Twin-Cities over the weekend. The broom job propelled the Indians in first place in the AL Central two games in front of their division rivals. Cleveland is riding on a five-game winning streak but hasn’t won in Baltimore in their last seven contests dating back to 2014.

In fact, the Indians have won only once in their last ten games overall versus Baltimore, but the Orioles aren’t exactly in the best frame of mind right now even though they have won their last two games. Their pitching has been awful of late as they have allowed 12 combined runs in the wins against the Cardinals over the weekend. They yielded 11 runs in their opening loss on Friday. The Orioles are back at .500 and trail the Yankees by 5 games in the AL East.

RH Corey Kluber (5-2, 4.15 ERA) will look to maintain his good form as he gets the call for the Indians while RH Dylan Bundy (7-5, 3.29 ERA) takes his turn for the Orioles in the series’ opener.

Since returning back to the rotation after spending a month on the disabled list with lower back problems, Kubler has been Kluber-esque in his three starts since the injury. The 31-year old posted three quality starts along with two wins in which he allowed only 3 combined runs in 12 frames while striking out 18 batters. Kluber was part of a no-decision in his last outing although he was impressive with just 2 runs allowed on 4 hits and 10 K’s in 7 innings against the Dodgers last Wednesday. The 2014 Cy Young winner is 1-1 with a 3.51 ERA in 7-career starts against the Orioles.

Bundy has been the best and most consistent pitcher for the Orioles this season which says a lot about the pitching staff when you consider that the 24-year old has already 5 losses to his dossier. After two straight setbacks, Bundy escaped with a 10-6 victory his last time out to the hill as he gave up four runs on six hits in five innings against the Chicago White Sox Wednesday last. The Oklahoma native won his lone start against the Indians and hasn’t allowed a run in 6 1/3 innings in two career-appearances to the mound.

Mybookie Sportsbook has the Indians favorites at 160-moneyline with the total sitting at 9.

MLB Runline Odds at BetOnline the Indians were favored by -1½ (+105)

Cleveland at Baltimore Tuesday, June 20

The result:
Although the Orioles have prospered at the plate recently, they will be without their homerun leader Chris Davis for the better part of three weeks and that hurts. They will be going against one of the toughest pitchers in the league in Kluber and their lumber have produced 8 runs a game during their current winning streak. The odds are stacked against them to take the opener. Indians 7, Orioles 2.
