Warriors: 55-14 (26-10 V)
Thunder: 40-29 (26-9 H)
When: 8:00 PM ET, Monday, March 20, 2017
Where: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Two teams heating up at the same time are about to face off Monday night and the fireworks show should be spectacular.
Golden State is heading to Oklahoma with some wind at their backs, winners of three straight. Perhaps the ship without Durant in the lineup has been righted now that players are better adjusted to their new roles.
Steph Curry took over the last game, a 117-92 demolition of the Milwaukee Bucks. The two-time MVP looked the part, hitting six of eight from long range on the way to a 28-point night.
Even more impressive is that they remained undaunted even after the Bucks got off to a hot start, building up an early 14-point lead.
They’ll need that resilience against a Thunder team that has found its mojo ever since a 102-92 win over San Antonio. They are now up to five straight wins and counting.
Russell Westbrook continues to be a monster as he had four straight triple-doubles in the first wins. He followed that up with a 28 point, 10 rebound 8 assist effort in a 110-94 win over Sacramento on Saturday.
But look for Golden State’s smothering defense to have the energy and the plan to slow him down enough for a close win.
