Are the Houston Astros really this good? They are certainly making it look easy as they took the first two games of their best of five series with Boston by identical 8-2 scores.

In game one it was the Jose Altuve show as he hit three home runs and they got to Red Sox ace Chris Sale for seven runs in five innings of work.

In game two Altuve was at it again with another two hit, two run one RBIs performance, but he had some great help from his clean up hitter. Carlos Correa hit a two-run home run in the first off of Drew Pomeranz as part of a four RBI day.

Now Boston returns home with their season on the line as they need to win three straight in order to advance to the ALCS.

Brad Peacock (13-2, 3.00 ERA) will pitch for Houston and he has been a revelation in the second half of the season. He only pitched in 11 games- six starts the past two seasons, but made 21 starts this year, getting his chance when both Dallas Keuchel and Lance McCullers were injured in June. In September he had a 2.57 ERA and allowed two runs or less in his last six starts. His last start was a 12-2 Astros win over the Red Sox and he gave up both runs in five innings.

Doug Fister (5-9, 4.88 ERA) has had a roller coaster season and it says something about the Red Sox starting pitching depth that he’s starting this game. He came into the line up in late June and had a 5.56 ERA on August 14th after ten starts. Four straight quality starts against the Indians, Orioles, Yankees and Blue Jays lowered it to 3.91. But he allowed 17 runs in 16.1 innings in his last four starts. That includes allowing three in 5.1 innings to Houston in his last one.

Mybookie Sportsbook has the Astros favorites at 140-moneyline with the total sitting at 9½.
