ALDS Game 2 Las Vegas Odds & Free MLB Predictions: Boston Red Sox vs Houston Astros

Boston Red Sox vs. Houston Astros

Red Sox: 0-1 (0-1 V)
Astros: 1-0 (1-0 H)
When: 2:00 PM ET, Friday, October 6, 2017
Where: Minute Maid Park, Houston, Texas

The Boston Red Sox will attempt to regain their winning form and stave off a delicate situation by going two games down as they look to level their series against the Houston Astros with Game 2 of this ALDS set be contested Friday afternoon on Fox Sports 1 live from Minute Maid Park in Houston.

The Astros showed why they are the best at what they do at the plate as they routed the Red Sox 8-2 in the opener of the ALDS on Thursday afternoon. AL MVP candidate Jose Altuve became only the ninth player in MLB history to slam three homeruns in a postseason game. He joins the likes of Babe Ruth, Reggie Jackson and Albert Pujols to name a few.

Boston starter Chris Sale was shaky once again as he allowed seven runs across nine hits and three homeruns in five painful innings. Veteran Justin Verlander was sharp for the Astros with just two runs allowed in six frames en route to his eighth-career win in the playoffs. Winners of game 1 in LDS play have won 71% of the series since it was implemented in 1995.

LH Drew Pomeranz (17-6, 3.32 ERA) will make his first-career postseason start as he gets the nod in Game 2 for the Red Sox while LH Dallas Keuchel (14-5, 2.90 ERA) looks to stay perfect in the playoffs as he is called upon to the mound for the Astros.

Pomeranz had a career-year for the Red Sox in which he tallied the most victories as a pro. Apart from a few hiccups here and there, the 28-year old has been the model of consistency throughout the season for Boston. Pomeranz has posted four quality starts in his last five outings including a victory against Houston in his last trip to mound in which he yielded a run on 3 hits in six innings. The Tennessee native is 2-2 with a 4.15 ERA in 7-career starts against the Astros.

Had he not been hampered by a neck injury that forced him out for nearly two months, Keuchel could have posted some monster numbers. The 29-year old has been solid in his last three starts which were all of the quality genre while posting a 2.00 ERA over that stretch. Keuchel will face the Red Sox for the first time this season. The Tulsa native has faced the Red Sox only twice in his career maintaining a 0-1 record with a 7.62 ERA.

Mybookie Sportsbook has the Astros favorites at 165-moneyline with the total sitting at 8½.

MLB Runline Odds at BetOnline the Astros were favored by -1½ (+130)
